Enrichment

At BBG Academy we strive to provide students with experiences that don’t just support their academic development but also give them the opportunity to develop their personal learning attributes and provide them with the opportunities to practices new skills.

Bronze Duke of Edinburgh

Students in Years 9, 10 and 11 are encouraged to complete their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. Students that have completed their DofE have said that it is a real adventure from start to finish.

At BBG Academy we support students in completing their Bronze award through a personally designed programme of activities in four sections, skill, physical, volunteering and the completion of an expedition.

While completing their award students will help others, get fitter, develop new skills and go on a 2-day expedition. During their DofE journey students pick up new experiences, make new friends and develop talents that stay with them for life.

Charity Events

We are very proud of our students at BBG Academy and their commitment to supporting others. We get involved in a variety of fundraising events, both external and internally organised. Students have participated in The Race For Life, Pretty Mudder, Run for Joe and cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats for Sport Relief.  Our Community Champions have also organised film events to raise money for Dementia Uk.
